The MOU between Walailak University and the Praboromarajchanok Institute aims to develop medical personnel for society.

On July 23, 2024, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, and Professor Emeritus Dr. Wichai Thienthaworn, President of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, signed an academic cooperation agreement between Walailak University and the Praboromarajchanok Institute. The aim of this agreement is to jointly develop medical personnel for society. The signing ceremony was witnessed by executives and faculty members from both institutions at the Huataphan Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Chulabhorn Walailak Medical Center Building, Walailak University.

Dr. Wichai stated that the Praboromarajchanok Institute has a strategy to collaborate with various institutions in Thailand to develop medical personnel. Walailak University, being an internationally recognized institution in the southern region of the country, is particularly notable for its capability in producing medical personnel. The university is well-equipped with advanced tools, qualified faculty, and academic staff. Therefore, the institute is confident that collaborating with Walailak University in the production of medical personnel will result in highly qualified professionals who are in demand by society.

Professor Dr. Sombat expressed his pleasure, stating that Walailak University is delighted to collaborate with the Praboromarajchanok Institute in producing medical personnel. He emphasized that the university’s capabilities extend beyond merely producing medical personnel, covering all health-related professional fields. The university aims for more than 90% of graduates in health disciplines to pass their professional licensing exams on the first attempt, serving as a testament to the quality of its education. This aligns with the cooperation in medical personnel development, not only with the Praboromarajchanok Institute but also with other health organizations in Thailand.

The key objective of this partnership is to produce medical personnel through research, to create knowledge, develop innovations, and strengthen academic capabilities. This will lead to the dissemination of research and innovations generated by the two institutions, both nationally and internationally.
