Walailak University Wins Two Prestigious Global Awards at the 3G Awards 2025, Reinforcing Its Role as a Leader in Green Campus and Sustainable Development

Walailak University has been honored with two prestigious awards at the Global Good Governance Awards (3G Awards) 2025, organized by Cambridge IFA International Financial Advisory, a UK-based financial consultancy. The university received the 3G Championship Award for Sustainable Development 2025 and the 3G Excellence Award for Green Campus 2025, recognizing its outstanding achievements in driving sustainability and promoting a green university environment.

On May 13, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jorchit, Vice President of Walailak University, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Amornsak Sawatdee, Director of the Center for Academic Services, attended the award ceremony held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Brunei. The event welcomed participants from over 15 countries, including representatives from government agencies, private sectors, and international organizations.

Assistant Professor Dr. Amornsak Sawatdee stated that these two international awards reflect the university’s progress under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who has emphasized sustainable development within the institution. The university’s beautiful, comfortable, and environmentally friendly campus has earned admiration from visitors, aligning with the recognition received through the 3G Excellence Award for Green Campus 2025.

Furthermore, Walailak University has extended its academic knowledge and innovations to benefit society through its academic service initiatives, contributing to local, national, and international development in line with the SDGs. This aligns with the 3G Championship Award for Sustainable Development 2025, as well as previous recognitions such as 3rd in the world for Stewardship and 4th in the world for Outreach in the THE Impact Rankings 2024.

“Walailak University stood out at the Global Good Governance Summit & Awards 2025 for its exceptional work in sustainability,” said Assistant Professor Dr. Amornsak. He added that Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jorchit was invited by the 3G Awards Committee to deliver a presentation on the university’s progress in sustainability and good governance, which left a strong impression on attendees.

The Global Good Governance Awards are highly respected international accolades presented to public and private sector organizations that demonstrate excellence in governance, international standards in management, and a strong commitment to socially responsible and sustainable practices.
