Walailak University Holds Its 10-Month Performance Review for Fiscal Year 2026 and Launches the Book “Nine Years of Transformation.”
Walailak University, through the Division of Planning and Strategy, organized its second performance monitoring meeting for Fiscal Year 2026, covering the 10-month period from October 2025 to July 2026. The meeting was held from 17 to 18 August 2026 at the Pattaradhammaporn Meeting Room on the ninth floor of Building C, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital.The meeting aimed to monitor the progress of all University units against their Fiscal Year 2026 performance agreements, facilitate the exchange of good practices, and jointly develop proactive solutions to challenges. These efforts were intended to ensure the achievement of established targets through participatory, transparent, and accountable management.
The meeting was held in accordance with the proactive policy of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, which requires all University units to report their performance twice a year. This policy aims to promote an efficient and transparent operational system while strengthening the University’s capacity to advance its missions.The meeting also provided executives and working teams with an opportunity to jointly analyze problems and challenges and promptly determine appropriate solutions, ensuring that operations achieve the targets set out in the University’s strategic plan.
On the morning of 17 August 2026, before the University units presented their performance results, a special event was held to officially launch the book **“Nine Years of Transformation under the Leadership of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong (2017–2025).”**
The event began with Assistant Professor Dr. Siwanat Nuntapichai, Director of the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, presenting the objectives of the book launch. Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President for Educational Development and Corporate Communication and Chair of the book’s editorial working group, then outlined the book’s background and provided an overview of its contents.Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, subsequently delivered a keynote address titled **“Achievements in Overcoming Challenges and Transforming Walailak University’s Performance toward World-Class University Status.”**University executives, staff, and students attended the event and received copies of the book for future reference and use.
