A delegation from Walailak University (WU) is currently visiting RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (HSRM). The six-member delegation of the Thai partner university, led by President Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, arrived in Wiesbaden on Monday for a guided tour of the Hessian state capital.

The reason for the visit, initiated by Prof. Claudia Aymar, is to expand cooperation in the Faculty of  Design Informatik Medien. The two universities have been working together on the project Global Design & Media CoSpace in the bachelor’s degree program Media: Conception & Production for a year now. This partnership is now being expanded to include a double master’s program in Creative Media Conception. In the future, HSRM students will be able to take courses in Thailand and earn a master’s degree from WU, and vice versa.

Shaping the future

To sign the agreement, HSRM President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller received the Thai delegation on Tuesday at noon on the Unter den Eichen Campus, after cooperation talks had already taken place at the Wiesbaden Business School location as well as on the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Campus. “The joint double-degree program makes studying even more intense and valuable for students from both universities because it brings cultures and continents together. We are shaping the future together,” says Prof. Dr. Waller. WU President Prof. Dr. Thamrongthanyawong was also pleased and emphasized the enormous importance of cultural exchange, which is reflected in this agreement.

After a campus tour and talks on further cooperation, the Thai delegation’s stay will end on Wednesday with an excursion to the Rheingau region.
