On August 11, 2024, the Planning and Strategy Division, in collaboration with the Walailak University Council Office, organized a policy brainstorming meeting (Retreat) between the University Council and the university administration at the Patthamaporn Conference Room, Building B, 9th Floor, Walailak University Medical Center. The meeting was attended by a total of 84 participants.

The purpose of this meeting was to provide a platform for gathering opinions from the University Council members and Walailak University administration to define policies and directions for the university’s development over the next three years (2025-2027). This plan aims to align with the university’s 20-year strategy, which includes the significant goal of advancing Walailak University to become one of the Top 5 universities in the country according to THE rankings by 2030.

Key activities included a presentation on the university’s development during the era of change by Prof. Dr. Somboon Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, and an overview presentation of the draft strategic plan for 2025-2027 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Wuttisuthimethawee, Vice President. Following this, a workshop was held to brainstorm on the university’s strategic issues, with results presented and discussions exchanged between the University Council members and the administration.

The draft strategic plan will be presented to the University Council for approval and will serve as the framework for the university’s development and the preparation of annual plans for various departments.
